Continuous High Accuracy Hydrostatic Levelling System

    Continuous measurements
Can be interfaced with optical system

    Applications
Stability control and servo-control of industrial machine
Structure deformation survey in civl engineering

Developed in cooperation with ESRF, F-Grenoble, and patented, the HLS system is dedicated to high accuracy levelling between two different ponts which can several hundred meters apart. Based on the communicating vessels principle, the system uses the free surface of a liquid as an absolute measurement reference. Each point of the network is equipped with a sensor that measures the vertical distance between the electrode and the altimetric reference plane. Measurement quality and accuracy are obtained thanks to our capacitive sensors and electronics. This equipment is available in two versions, one "high accuracy" version and one HLS-DE version which allows high amplitude measurements.

    Hydraulic network
The hydraulic network is composed of the following items:
    - Vessels that materialized the measurement points, connected to one another
    - By pipes that ensure hydraulic connection and atmospheric pressures equilibrium at the different measurement points.
Various accessories are available to build up the network: control and filling/purging device (manual or automatic), connections, manual or automatic taps, interface plates ...
The design and the creation of a hydraulic network have a primordial influance on the global accuracy of the system. Our team stays at your disposal so as to define the network that best suits to your project.

    Measurement chain
The measurement chain is composed of:
    - Capacitive levelling sensors (HLS)
    - Multi-systems and multi-channels rack(s) for power supply and interface with PC
    - Connecting cable
    - TAP-EBC rack(s) and a hydraulic network control system
    - Hydraulic network (valves, pumps, pipes ...)
    - MSM software allowing to process measurements

Features of the HLS sensors (high accuracy version)
Entirely made of stainless steel, the sensor is equipped with a reference base that can bear the Taylor Hobson 3.5" sphere or an alignment scale equipped with a spheric reference base; a combined levelling with HLS and optical sensors is thus possible.
A temperature proble inserted in each vessel allows to carry out corrections on measurements.
Usually integrated in the sensor head, the electronics can be placed in an industrial box that can be located up to 100 meters away from the sensor
. This optionbecomes a necessity in the case of strong radiation damage or strong magnetic field.

The electronics allows to carry out:
    - A distance measurement: the output voltage (0-10V) is directly proportional to the liquid height inside the vessel.
    - A temperature measurement: a temperature probe measures the liquid temperature at each measurement point of the network. The output voltage (0-10V) is directly proportional to the temperature.
